CREUS has worked extensively in the design of municipal infrastructure from lot servicing for infill lots, creating new infrastructure systems for large multi phase developments, pump stations and reservoirs to upgrading and replacing existing municipal infrastructure.

Westsyde Reservoir, Kamloops, BC
Client: Noort Homes

Description: A 948m municipal reservoir and associated plumbing, valve chamber, access road, connection to the existing municipal distribution system and removal of the existing reservoir.

CREUS Member Roles: : CREUS members were responsible for the detailed design, inspection and signoff of the reservoir plumbing, controls, access road, offsite connections and removal of the existing reservoir. CREUS members also hired and coordinated structural and electrical sub-consultants to complete the works.
Seymour Filtration, Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, North Vancouver, BC
Client: Frontier Kemper (for Metro Vancouver)

Description: The largest filtration plant of its kind in Canada, this high profile project will ensure the safety and quality of Metro Vancouver's drinking water for years to come. Numerous consulting and construction firms have been required to provide services for this massive project.

CREUS Member Roles: CREUS is responsible for the design and inspection of earthworks and a temporary pipe-support system at the intersection of two existing water mains with the two new 2.70m diameter mains coming from the new filtration plant. The project involved working in conjunction with Geopacific Consultants in designing a Mechanically-Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall in an area with various physical constraints and safety concerns. Creus members also produced traffic management plans to accommodate access for both construction use and public recreation.
D'Arcy Watermain Extension, D'Arcy, SLRD, BC
Client: Squamish-Lillooet Regional District

Description: A design-build contract where Creus worked together with Terrane Construction Ltd. to design and extend approximately 275m of watermain through parts of the existing town. Installation included removal of existing portions of the systems and replacement of 12 services to residences while maintaining service.

CREUS Member Roles: CREUS created the detailed design, obtained approvals, coordinated with the SLRD, MOT, the water operator, and the residents of D'Arcy, and managed and inspected the construction works carried out by Terrane. The project involved evaluation of various design/construction options, hydraulic analysis, waterworks design drawings, traffic management plans, sediment & erosion control plans, plans for the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, and resident notification.
Grafton Dam and Terminal Creek Assessment, Bowen Island, BC
Client: Bowen Island Municipality

Description: Assessment of approximately 3,400m of Terminal Creek leading from the Grafton Lake dam to the outfall in Cove Bay. This project involved the review of 4 culvert crossings and 5 bridge crossings, as well as numerous constriction points and areas at risk of flooding. The assessment was required to determine the consequences of a dam failure, so the creek's ability to handle flows of over 9.0cms was assessed.

CREUS Member Roles: CREUS was responsible for providing an assessment on the condition of the existing creek infrastructure including bridge crossings, retaining walls, and embankments. Creus acted as project manager in coordinating efforts between the geotechnical engineer and municipal staff for the overall submission to the Dam Safety Branch.
Seylynn, Mountain Highway and Fern Street
Client: Seylynn (North Shore) Development LP

Description:Seylynn (North Shore) Development LP is proposing to redevelop the Seylynn Village lands in North Vancouver to form the cornerstone of the newly proposed Lower Lynn Town Centre for the District of North Vancouver. The existing lands include previously consolidated single family lots between Mountain Highway, Fern Street and Highway 1. The proposed development generally consists of 3 residential towers, with daycare, community amenities, rental housing and ground floor commercial components. The project will involve a major redevelopment of the site including realignment of the existing road network. The total site area is approximately 2.1ha.

CREUS Member Roles: : Creus Engineering Ltd. is responsible for the onsite and offsite Civil Engineering services for the multi-phased development. A major component on this work is the development of a new East-West Connector from Keith Road/ Mountain Highway to Highway 1 and the lands to the East. This work also includes the redesign of the existing use and geometry of Mountain Highway and Fern Street to accommodate the new Link. Onsite servicing to meet the current District of North Vancouver requirements including source control measures and site grading conforming to the FCL for the site. The offsite works will include analyzing the existing services to accommodate the future development of the Lower Lynn area, upgrading existing municipal services, undergrounding of private utilities and possible providing District Energy systems to the site. The offsite sanitary sewer main downstream of the site will require upgrades all the way down to the Metro Vancouver trunk sewer at Main Street. This main will ultimately service the new Lower Lynn Town Centre Developments. Creus Engineering is working with District of North Vancouver, MOTI and Metro Vancouver to attain approvals and is also responsible to coordinate the transportation, hydrological, and surveying consultants as part of this development.
Wedge Woods at Whistler, SLRD, BC
Client: 28165 Yukon Inc.

Description: A 700-acre, residential development on a mountainside neighborhood with tough terrain and encroachments with rivers, highway, rail, hydro and creeks. Project is within SLRD and did not have any existing services upon commencement. This project has involved the design of all civil services, roads, pump stations, reservoirs, bridges, preliminary approvals and site preparation, construction and inspection. We have provided project management for civil works, bridge construction, wetland restoration projects, site development, entry monuments, water system and sewage treatment plant construction.

CREUS Member Roles: The Engineer of record for all the detailed civil, sediment and erosion control and Stormwater Management elements of the project and have managed the tender and construction of the works to date.
